The U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights is the Departmental entity with responsibility for investigating discrimination/civil rights-related complaints based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, and age. The Department of Education processes discrimination complaints that involve a U.S. Department of Education employee. 

The OIG handles complaints when the allegation involves serious misconduct fraud , criminal conflict of interest , or a significant violation of the Standards of Ethical Conduct . If your concern or complaint involves this, learn how to file a report and submit a report to the OIG.
